Corporate governance

Sustainable action is our self-image

Integrity in corporate management includes both the responsible and sustainable management of a company (corporate governance) and acting on the basis of ethical and moral values (compliance). The sustainable commitment and governance performance of companies is measured with the help of sustainability indices and ratings.

Sustainability ratings make us an environmental benchmark

  • Thanks to our clear commitment to sustainability and climate protection, we have made it into the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe. In 2023, our ranking was in the 91st percentile, which means we performed better or equally well as 91% of all steel companies assessed.

  • Our listing in the FTSE4Good once again confirms our constant commitment to environmental protection.

  • Our climate protection measures were also recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project with an A rating. This enabled us as a company to achieve the leadership level.

The voestalpine Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct clearly sets out our core values and how we deal with customers, suppliers, employees and other business partners. The topics range from money laundering to data protection, from respect for human rights and working conditions to donations and sponsorship.

E-learning training courses are offered to improve understanding and as a preventative measure. Violations can be reported directly to line managers and via an anonymous reporting system.

Human rights are non-negotiable

We are committed to respecting human rights. We do not tolerate child and forced labor, discrimination of any kind - including in hiring and employment - either within the Group or with our partners. This is why human rights are an important point in the Code of Conduct for Business Partners.

In conversation with our stakeholders

It is important to us to be in constant contact and exchange with all relevant individuals and groups who have an interest in our organization. Regardless of whether our actions influence this group or vice versa, whether for personal or professional reasons. To this end, we have established a range of formats and communication options for exchanging ideas with customers, suppliers, employees, associations, interest groups, research institutions and investors.
